“They’re all fucking useless. Find her.” Slamming my fist against my wooden desk, everything on it rattles. It’s been hours since the fucking alarm went off at my engagement party and Isla is still nowhere to be found.

Maksim should have been on her the second the lights went down, but he’d probably been too busy eyeing up the gorgeous women surrounding him. Stupid motherfucker. Yelling with pent-up frustration, I call down the corridor of my Rosebay Apartment, “Don’t come back here without her!”

If I find her first, he won’t be around long enough to wish her a welcome back. Cocksucker…

Petya is sitting in the corner of my office, drinking a glass of water. We’d been held up at The Resort trying to get answers to where Isla had disappeared to. Chaos had broken loose when the bullets were shot around the large room. People screaming, bodies lying on the ground, or trying to gain cover from some madman in the dark shooting at them. Calling her name profusely got me nowhere. Petya and Maksim’s team of security were rendered sightless in the dark and were useless.

What the fuck did I leave her side for? Knowing the dangers and the fact that the fucker Raven was there, I should have been by her side… When the pounding of the bullets stopped, I ran through the darkened room, stepping on people no doubt, to where I left Isla. The screeching alarm finally stopped and the lights blazed within five minutes but it was enough time for some prick to take my property or for Isla to escape from me on her own. I had to count it as a possibility. Albeit a slim one as she knew how serious I was about hurting anyone she loved to get what I wanted.

Petya and his security team searched everywhere a person could go without a pass in the resort once we determined she was missing, while I made phone calls to other families who owed me favors. I’m pissed as hell that I can’t even track her because she didn’t bring her purse tonight. She could be right under our noses in one of the rooms and we wouldn’t know it. I had no power to search the premises. But Alex Raven did and for some fucking reason he was nowhere to be found either.

FUCK!

The manager was at the doorway the minute the lights were on, ushering people out of the stately room. Talking to the police and the rescue squad that had arrived, he reviewed if anyone had been hurt. From what I surveyed, no one had. The only problem that existed was that Isla was missing and Seth and Kameron were gone as well. But they could have left together before this nightmare occurred.

The police came, but they weren’t going to have the answers I needed. I couldn’t fucking come straight out and tell them I was blackmailing Isla to marry me. Talking to their lazy asses, I decided not to alert
